Maxwell Novetzke is Director of Research and Geological Development at the Tourmaline King Mine in San Diego County, California. His work focuses on developing structured geological research programs within active pegmatite systems, with an emphasis on lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites and their potential for both mineral specimen recovery and critical mineral evaluation.

Maxwell has a background in laboratory research and previously worked in neuroscience and electrophysiology laboratories, where he developed strong experience in analytical workflows, data management, and experimental design. He now applies this scientific approach to mineral exploration, sampling strategy development, and building partnerships with academic institutions.

His current efforts include developing a field-based research framework within active pegmatite mines and exploring pathways to connect small-scale mining operations with academic research and emerging critical mineral supply initiatives.
